Timo : Vai, että paratiisissa? No, toisaalta kyllä, mutta toisaalta ei. Kyllä ne lamat, työhuolet, rahahuolet ja muutkin huolet ovat tännekin tiensä löytäneet. Tosin eivät nyt kyllä mitenkään suuressa määrin meidän elämässämme, mutta periaatteessa samanlaista puurtamista se on elämä palmupuiden alla kuin lumihankienkin keskellä. Hyvää Joulua myös itsellesi ja perheellesi!

Terveiset täältä sateisesta suomesta.Olen mielenkiinnolla lukenut millaista se elämä on siellä kaukana. Minuakin kiinnostaa puutarhanhoito siksi se on kiinnostavaa lukea sun touhuista. Toivottavasti jaksat kirjoitella lisää.
Kävimme Hämäläisten suku retkellä Kiiskilässä oli mielenkiintoinen retki. Toin sieltä villintyneestä puutarhasta mustaherukka pensaan, saa nähdä miten se lähtee kasvamaan. On sillä ainakin suuri tunnnearvo vaikka vain koristeena kasvaisi.Terveisin. Serkkusi Keijo

Timo : Terve Keijo, ja kiitos viestistä! Kyllä näitä juttuja tulee täällä varmaan tulevaisuudessakin pyöritettyä. Tosin ei joka kuukausi ole mitään uutta kerrottavaa. Se kun on elämä täälläkin asettunut uomiinsa. Mukava kuulla, että te vielä teette Koiviston-matkoja. Minä kuvittelin, että se alue on pelkkää öljysatamaa ja yksityisiä kesämökkejä nykyään, niin, etteivät muut enää sekaan sovi. Hieno juttu, jos se mustaherukka lähtee kasvamaan. Ja vaikka pari marjaa kesässä tekisi, niin olishan sekin upeata. Annahan kuulua vuoden päästä, miten kävi.

Nyt löytyi mukava sivu luettavaksi tuon "jupinaa venkoiluhuneelta"-blogin kautta :)
Tuttavamme asuvat Australiassa väliaikaisesti ja pienenä tyttönä minulla oli sieltä kirjekaveri, sekä poikiemme vaari on nuorena asunut myöskin Australiassa, joten maa kiehtoo minua kovasti!
Taidan tulla tänne vakikurkkijaksi :)

Onkin tuon Talikon lokin kautta löytynyt Suomesta niin monta kivaa paikkaa, juuri sellaisia, joissa olisin itsekin mielläni halunnut asua. Ikävä vain, että sukulaisilla ei juuri ole tuollaisia maalaispaikkoja, joissa voisi ajatella joskus lomalla käyvänsä. Ei muuta kuin terkkuja sinne koko perheelle!

Näihin teidän elämäntarinoihin siellä on tullut ihan addiktio. Ei malttais millään odottaa että seuraava kuu on kulunut ja uudet kuvat ja kertomukset ilmestyy sivuille :-). Pitäsköhän sinun ihan kirjoittaa kohta kirja, niin olisi sukulaiset ja vierailijat tyydytettyjä kerta heitolla ! Melkein on kohta kanoja hommattava tuohon omalle pihallekin, on niin kiva seurata teidänkin kanojen elämää siellä ja tietysti muidenkin lemmikkien touhuja ja kuulumisia :-).

PS: Ne meidän koirulit on nyt sitten Ausseja. Ovat vielä karanteenissa Sydneyssa. Matka oli mennyt hyvin, vaikka meinasin itseni surra ahdistuksesta niiden pitkän matkan takia...

Timo : Kiva, että pääsivät koirat onnellisesti perille. Toivotaan nille hyvää elämää siellä! Kiitos taas mielenkiinnosta jorinoitani kohtaan. Eipä sitä kirjaa ole suunnitelmissa, siihen kun on todella hankala lisätä uusia kuulumisia. Valitettavasti niitä on kyllä välillä hankala lisätä tähän nettipäiväkirjaankin. Varsinkin nyt minä olen taas tehnyt vakaan päätöksen vähnetää netissä roikkumista ja näppiksen sijasta tarttua mieluummin lapioon tai kävelysauvoihin. Mutta aina sitä jotain tulee laiteltua. Kanat ovat kyllä tosiaankin mukavaia ja fiksuja eläimiä. Niitä kyllä katselisin päivät pitkät minäkin, niin kuin Bluey-koira tekee. Sääliksi vain käy maailman muita kanoja, joista suurin osa ei saa koskaan kuopia maata ja nähdä aurinkoa.

Ihan vahingossa osuin naille sinun sivuillesi surffaillessani ja etsiessani \"aitoa\" tietoa aidolla suomen kielella Australiasta :-). Taidan alkaa seuraamaan tata mielenkiintoista blogia ihan vakituisesti. Todella mukava lukea Australiasta suomalaisen nakokulmasta.

Syy miksi Australia on alkanut kiinnostaa, on se etta vuosi sitten meidan koiran pentueesta tilattiin 2 kpl:tta sinne toiselle puolelle maapalloa. Menneen vuoden aikana on tullut hyvin tutustuttua niiden uusiin omistajiin Sydneyssa ja vientisaannot on tulleet hyvinkin tutuiksi kaikkine karanteeneineen (luin teidan kissojen karanteenista). Pian meidan \"lapsilla\" on aika sinne matkustaa ja parhaillaan etsimme nopeinta, turvallisinta seka edullisinta reittia koirille lentaa sinne toiselle puolelle maapalloa ja kun lennot on varattu, edessa on viela viimeiset verikokeet ja loishaadot ennen pitkaa matkaa.

Oikein hyvaa syksyn alkua sinne teidan perheelle taalta kevaisesta Suomesta !

I found your page while searching for images of the Cairns to Tully area...your pics are great, they show your every day life, and how things are. I am hoping to move to Cairns within 2-3 months depending on the visa situation...so I was so glad to see your photos and hear the progression of your stay in Australia. You cover the seasons well, in photos and narrative. I was in Australia in Nov. 2005 and again Feb 2006..so I too have seen the different seasons. Thank you for sharing your story for others to read, a real honest look at life in a new country.

Hei Timo ja muu perhe!

Olen tässä parin kuukauden ajan lukenut päiväkirjaasi, kun sivuillesi löysin.

Olen itse tulossa Australiaan Work&Travel companyn kautta helmikuun puolessa välissä tuolla Working holiday viisumilla. Odotan matkaa innolla ja kotona onkin iso pino kaikkea Aussi-tietoutta :)

Tällä hetkellä olen Ylellä töissä, tv-uutisissa. Australiassa pyrin media-alaa jonkin verran opiskelemaan lisää ja ehkä koitan jotakin alan työtäkin saada.

Päiväkirjastasi on ollut hyötyä näin matkaa suunnittelevalle, osaa ehkä hieman jo varautua noihin asunto-, käärme-, ilmasto- ym. juttuihin.

Koiristanne on ollut kiva lukea ja itsellekkin tuli vähän tippa silmään Maxin kohtalosta :( Bluey vaikuttaa koiralta, jota varmasti jokainen koiraihminen rakastaisi!

Aurinkoista kesän jatkoa sinne! Täällä lumi jo koittaa jäädä maahan ja joulua odotellaan talvisissa merkeissä.

Tervehdys sinne toispuolell,

ja onneksi olkoon Timo, aikamoinen harppaus kahteen suuntaan.

Todellakin täällä alkaa kevät puhkeamaan, ja päivät pitenee silmissä, kohta koittaa taas suven aika. Miltä se \" ukkomiehen\" elämä tuntuu?, tai tiedänhän minä ( jo 23 vuotta kokemusta alla ).

Ensi kesän aikana aikan dokumentoin maisemaa Piehinki-joesta, ja yritän syksyyn mennessä viedä kuvia sivuille, käy vilkaiseen syksyllä.

just surfing and came across you website. I just moved back from Singapore (there for 4 years) to Tasmania in early January. I love your photos. I just wanted to see parts of Singapore as they are and your site did it for me.

Helped me with missing my friends there and just seeing the streets I used to ride on my motorcycle. I hope you make it to Tasmania one day, it\'s beautiful down here.

I found your website when I was working in the UK, looking for pictures of Singapore to cure my homesickness. Now I\'m back. Congratulations on your wedding. Hope you and Nancy will enjoy yourselves in Australia.

I love your pictures, they are just the pictures of everyday life in Singapore. The real Singapore, nice places, ugly places, clean streets, dumps, HDB flats, SBS buses. My favourite is the one you posted long ago, a picture taken at East Coast, showing VJC, the canal beside it and Ocean Park condominium. Thanks for everything.

See the message board section. There you can also ask your guestions. Indeed, I recommended you to get acguinted with Singapore, the world where you love is living. Just remember in Asian culture family is much more important than in Europe. This really matters if your relationship lasts and becomes more serious. Well, just come and see and live here for a while. And don't believe everything you read or hear about restrictions, fines etc. Life can be very enjoyable here.

Timo : He, being Mr and Mrs Sippala feels funny for us. To me being uncle Timo to so many new people I have never even met, feels funny. And seeing people address my dear wife xiao gu is something new too. Somebody asked me how should I be correctly addressed. To let you know. In the culture where I come from the way you address people does not really matter in family and every day lif. It is quite close to American culture where there are much less formalities than in Chinese culture. So, I prefer just calling me by my first name Timo ie. without Mr. Uncle or any titles like that. But I know in practise this is about compromises between two (or more) cultures. For both me and the new family there is so much to learn so if you think you should address me in some special name, not just by name, do wahtever you feel is right.

Timo : Funny, Durian happens to have had it's role in our relationships. I mean the fruit, not the building. Durian pie and cake plus durian moon cake were also served in the wedding party in Finland. Some of the guests liked it but most refused even to go near it.

Tulimme muutama tunti sitten kotiin Lapista hiihtämästä, Äkäslompolosta. Eka päivänä oli 27 astetta pakkasta, iltapäivällä oli jo kiva lämpö hiihtää. Upeet aurinkoiset ilmat jokaisena 6 päivänä. Hiukan alkaa olla vanha joten päivän matkat jäävät 10-15 km paikkeille. Tunturiin noustiin yhtenäpäivänä.
